Dr. Krathen is a board-certified dermatologist and fellowship-trained Mohs surgeon providing comprehensive skin care and specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of skin cancer. He works at Dermatology Associates of the Palm Beaches, where he sees patients at the offices in Palm Beach Gardens and Palm City, Florida. A South Florida native, Dr. Krathen graduated summa cum laude from Washington University in St. Louis with a degree in chemistry. He proceeded to attend Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas, achieving the high honor of graduating in the top ten of his class. He remained at Baylor College of Medicine for his internship and residency in dermatology at the world-class Texas Medical Center. He then completed a fellowship in Mohs surgery and procedural dermatology at the Dayton Skin Surgery Center in Kettering, Ohio. This fellowship involved intensive training in Mohs and reconstructive surgery, laser surgery, and cosmetics. A Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology (FAAD) and a Fellow of the American College of Mohs Surgery (FACMS), Dr. Krathen is board-certified in dermatology by the American Board of Dermatology (ABD).

Richard A. Krathen, MD, FAAD, FACMS, attended Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas, and received his medical degree in 2002. In addition to graduating in the top ten of his class and with honors in basic sciences, he was granted the Alpha Omega Alpha Award. Dr. Krathen stayed at Baylor College of medicine for his dermatology residency (2003-2006), which he completed at the prestigious Texas Medical Center/ Ben Taub Hospital in Houston, Texas. Furthermore, he conducted his fellowship in Mohs surgery and procedural dermatology (reconstructive surgery, laser surgery, and cosmetics) at the Dayton Skin Surgery Center/ Miami Valley Hospital in Kettering, Ohio (2006-2007). In addition, Dr. Krathen received board certification in dermatology from the American Board of Dermatology. She remains in good standing with the American Society of Clinical Oncology. Moreover, he attained fellowship of the American Academy of Dermatology (FAAD) and fellowship of the American College of Mohs Surgery (FACMS). Dr. Krathen dedicates his spare time to being with his wife and three daughters.
